Fifteen Weeks
Fifteen Weeks

How far along: 15 weeks

Baby’s size: The size of an orange

Weight gain: Up one from last week, for a total of +3

Sleep: I still crash early and sleep pretty soundly, but it’s getting harder for me to find a good position! I’m normally a stomach sleeper, but that doesn’t work quite as well anymore.

Clothes: Got myself a Belly Band last weekend, so the work pants are back! Plus I got some basic maternity tank tops for layering and more leggings. I’m prepared to wear a lot of leggings this fall/winter.

Cravings: My dad’s granola. He sent me the recipe, so I’m hoping to make a batch soon.

Food aversions: Still salad. Healthy, delicious gross salad.

Symptoms: I get super worn out by exercise I would have done no problem before being pregnant. Walking up hills? I’m pathetic. But on the bright side, my skin seems to be doing awesome.

Movement: None that I can feel, but the books tell me the baby is active in there.

Baby’s sex: Allan votes boy, I vote girl!

Highlight of the week: Hearing Kim and Krickett Carpenter speak at the First Things First Fall Banquet. They got in a car accident two months after they were married, and Krickett lost all memory of meeting, dating, and marrying her husband. He stuck with her and they dated and fell in love all over again, even getting re-married (so she would remember it this time!). That was 20 years ago, and they are still going strong. Great reminder to stick together and stay true to your vows even through the tough times. (If this story sounds familiar, this is the real-life couple the movie The Vow was based off of.)

What I miss: My long-distance friends! Anybody who wants to visit Chattanooga, you’re more than welcome!
