How far along: 37 weeks, which means Baby Bear is full term! Crazy news from my appointment on Monday: I’m already 80% effaced!
Baby’s size: You know, still packing on the baby weight/adorable chub. Approximately 6.5 lbs and 20 inches long, which could be as long as Baby Bear is when s/he is born. The belly is measuring right on track!
Weight gain: Seems to have slowed. Nobody is mentioning it at my appointments anymore, which I take to mean that I’m doing fine. I only got a glimpse at the scale, but I think I was +2 from two weeks ago.
Sleep: Well, I am enormous and incredibly uncomfortable, so sleep isn’t going super great. I toss and turn, snore, and get up for bathroom breaks nonstop. It’s not ideal. Continue reading →
How far along: Thirty-six weeks, also known as nine months pregnant. Seems weird to say 9 months (because that’s how long a pregnancy is supposed to last, right?) but Baby Bear won’t technically be full term until next week and my due date isn’t until March 15. Four weeks to go, and I have officially crossed the line into “ready to not be pregnant anymore.” Over. It.
Baby’s size: Enormous. The fruit this week is a honeydew. A honeydew! That maybe weighs SIX POUNDS! Inside your body! Stretching your skin to unimaginable dimensions! Gaaaahhh! My belly is big enough that basically everyone stares at me and I have given up pretending that I don’t waddle everywhere.
Weight gain: So much. While I officially weigh more than my husband now, a neighbor expressed surprise that I was even pregnant (I assume because he thought I was so small) and asked, “Your doctors are okay with your weight and everything?” Wow. That really happened. Continue reading →
How far along: I skipped a week because of some personal issues, but it was already edging into the next week anyway. Now I’m 35 weeks, one day. Five weeks left until my due date! I got my hair dyed closer to my natural color so I wouldn’t have to worry about maintaining it so much once the baby gets here.
Baby’s size: It felt like my bump didn’t get much bigger, but it’s clear from the pictures that it keeps growing! Baby Bear is the size of a coconut now. All of his/her organs are fully functional now and major developmental milestones have been hit, so now it’s just time to put on the pounds! Baby could be 20″ long and 5.5 lbs by now.
Weight gain: Only +2 lbs since my last visit to the doctor’s office, but that’s a total of +46. One of the good things about living in the south is that everyone has been pretty awesome about telling me I look fabulous instead of pointing out that I waddle like a penguin.
Sleep: I can sleep an incredible amount these days. I haven’t really been passing out cold like I used to, because it takes me a while to get comfortable and I toss and turn more throughout the night. Continue reading →
How far along: 33 weeks. That seems like a really long time. What other part of your life do you count in weeks like this?
Baby’s size: Baby Bear is gaining about a half a pound a week and could have grown an inch since last week, which would make him/her maybe 4.5 lbs and 18″ long?
Weight gain: Enough!
Sleep: Still pretty much tired all the time. Naps are my friend, when I can take them.
Clothes: No change here. Just hoping my few outfits last the final weeks!
Cravings: Still find myself wanting BBQ more than I ever have before now that I’m pregnant, but I still don’t want it all the time. The rest of it is as usual: cookies and milk, ice cream, etc. Continue reading →
